Point-of-Care and
Lab-based Testing

Point-of-Care tests are ones that are offered in the pharmacy and give results in 20 minutes or less. We offer several types of on-site testing such as: strep throat swabs, urinalysis (to screen for UTI/bladder infection), blood glucose testing, blood pressure checks, and more.
Some other requests might require bloodwork or further testing at the hospital lab. In these cases, our pharmacist can give you a requisition for the lab and we can then follow up with you directly to discuss the results.

In both cases, the pharmacist may be able to prescribe an appropriate therapy for you based on the results of your test. In some cases, a referral to a doctor may still be warranted.
